A 2022 Buying and Selling Journey

I met my clients Samantha and Darrin* at an open house in January 2022. They loved the very modern house I was selling, but wanted a one-story home. We got together soon after to review their must-haves, wish list, and budget. We discussed what makes for a successful search and agreed on a strategy to find their next home.

Like many buyers this spring, Samantha and Darrin lost out on a few houses before they got a house under contract. They made offers that were competitive in terms of price and other terms, but never took risks beyond their comfort zone. They stayed focused on their goals, and never let their emotions control the process.

In August, we viewed a house on the first day it was active. It checked every box on their must-have list, and had most of their wish list items too. I reached out to the listing agent to learn what was most important to the seller and within hours crafted and submitted a compelling offer that was accepted right away.

Once Samantha and Darrin closed on their lovely new home, it was time to sell their former home, an adorable midcentury ranch. They did everything right in the process:

  • They used the research I provided to make a data-informed pricing decision.

  • They allowed me to bring in my stager so the photos would look great.

  • Of course they kept the house spotless and de-cluttered.

  • They skedaddled whenever an agent wanted to show the house.

  • They kept calm during negotiations and let me advocate on their behalf while never losing sight of the big picture.

The result? They received a great price and the buyer got a great house! If you want a smooth transaction too, let me help you next!
