A Francis Mah condo?

Newly listed this week is a contemporary townhome in River Oaks. I was checking out the listing details and the development for a customer when I found this info on the condo association’s website:

The plans are the product of a group of architects under the leadership of Francis Mah (1929-1998) well known for bringing the modern movement to Memphis with buildings like First Tennessee Bank (downtown location), Brister Library at the University of Memphis, Hyatt Regency Hotel (now Hilton Hotel), beautiful private residences and our Condominiums.

I have no idea how much Mah himself had to do with the plans, but it certainly is a distinctively contemporary development with open floor plans and lots of natural light.

Built in 1974, the home has 3 bedrooms and 2.1 baths and is priced at $385,000.

Looking Up

This ranch in Pigeon Estates has a great indoor-outdoor connection, not to mention those soaring ceilings in the great room. 4 bedrooms, 2.1 baths, $425,000. See details here.

Ranchy Ranch with Price Drop

The exterior of this Lakeland home embraces a truly “ranch” aesthetic, and I think it works. I also love the big fireplace at the center of the home. Built in 1966, 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, $449,000 (reduced from $549,000).
