Summer School
Summer can be a slower time as buyers and sellers both pause to visit the beach or lay in the hammock. I took the opportunity to earn two additional certifications/designations.
The first is the Real Estate Negotiation Expert certification. The first and only negotiation credential recognized by the National Association of REALTORS®, the RENE is designed to elevate and enhance negotiating skills. The course was challenging and lots of fun, with role playing and discussions of various scenarios for both seller’s and buyer’s markets. I’ve already found it helpful for negotiating repairs.
The second is the Accredited Buyer Representative designation. The ABR designation is only awarded to licensed real estate professionals who complete specialized training that gives them the edge in understanding a buyer's perspective and protecting and promoting their buyer-clients' interests. Before earning the ABR designation, I had to demonstrate proven experience in representing buyers as well as complete additional education.
As an ABR, I can help you:
Understand your specific needs and wants, and locate appropriate properties
Assist you in determining how much you can afford
Preview properties
Advise you in formulating your offer
Help you develop your negotiating strategy
Provide a list of qualified vendors (inspectors, attorneys, lenders, etc.) for other services you may need
Keep track of every detail throughout the transaction — to closing and beyond
