This one has obviously been changed a lot since it was built, but I want to point out one change that I think was done well. Too often when a wall between the kitchen and living space is removed, the kitchen floor is replaced with a wood-look vinyl that just looks weird next to the original wood floors. If you can’t match the original wood, do what these folks have done and use a completely different material, like this patterned tile.
